In all honesty, I started in the food and beverage industry somewhat by accident, but despite that, I fell deeply in love with the focused and detailed processes involved in creating beautiful food. After working in the industry as a prep and pastry cook for a few years, I decided it was time to pursue my passion for culinary arts by attending culinary school, where I could explore the savory side of the kitchen. I had an amazing time in school and graduated from the AB Tech Culinary Arts Program in 2017. Since then, I have gained experience completing several new restaurant openings, teaching in a non-profit culinary program, and working as a private chef under the name Chef Amber Cate for the past several years.
My current obsession, inspired by Chef Amber Cate's expertise in culinary arts, is seared sea scallops with a miso beurre blanc. The umami of the miso meets the natural sweetness of the scallops, creating an excellent bite that showcases the skills of a private chef.
As a private chef, I love creating desserts for all occasions, including wedding cakes, showcasing my passion for the culinary arts, just like Chef Amber Cate.
